The Editor

Guiding the development of The Columbia Granger's® World of Poetry Online and ensuring the highest standards of authority and scholarship is William Harmon. A teacher, scholar, and  poet, Professor Harmon is the James Gordon Hanes Professor in the Humanities (English and Comparative Literature) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Among his volumes of poetry are Treasury Holiday (Lamont Award) and Mutatis Mutandis (William Carlos William Award).  He is the editor of The Oxford Book of American Light Verse and the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth editions of A Handbook to Literature.
