Guiding the development of The Columbia Granger's World of Poetry and ensuring the highest standards of authority and scholarship is William Harmon. A teacher, scholar, and poet, Professor Harmon is the James Gordon Hanes Professor Emeritus in the Humanities (English and Comparative Literature) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Among his volumes of poetry are Treasury Holiday (Lamont Award) and Mutatis Mutandis (William Carlos William Award). He is the editor of The Oxford Book of American Light Verse, A Handbook to Literature (editions five through twelve), and Columbia University Press anthologies of poetry and criticism. His Poetry Toolkit: For Readers and Writers was published in 2012.
